This well-made, wonderful, naive piece has many functions. It has beautiful molding on the crown and at the mid-point with block feet lifting it off the floor. A desk pulls out from under the roll top. There are many storage drawers, three large drawers below and twelve little drawers above, one hidden behind a curved little door. There is a notched shelf to hang stemware, spoons, or dried flowers behind the center cupboard door and shelves in the other two. Brass and bakelite hardware throughout. The drawers and cupboard doors have locks, but sadly, I have no key. It would be fun to get the locks in working order again. This piece has so much character.
It is a highboy in two pieces. The top separates from the bottom for easy moving.
There are three cupboard doors on top. Behind two are shelves. The central one has a drawer and two shelves, one of which is notched.
Eleven little drawers above the desk, one behind a curved door.
The desk lifts with a grosgrain ribbon pull and stays at an angle due to a wooden stand underneath. Two storage spaces on either side of the desk open by sliding the tops.
They just do not make them like they used to!
