This Really is a Great Looking Antique American Stoneware Jug. Circa Mid 19th Century. It is Rendered in a Very Unusual Low Center of Gravity Squat Form - Shape Indicating that it was Intended for Liquors - Spirits. It has a Classic Greige Color Salt Glaze Exterior on a Unusual Red Brick Style Internal Clay Body. It has a Beautiful & Artistically Hand Decorated Deep Blue Stylized Flower Design on the Front. It has No Maker or Liquid Capacity Mark but it Appears to be Just Slightly Larger Than a 1 Gallon Size. Back in the Day These Types of Stoneware Items were a Necessity in Most of Americas Farms and Household's and They were Made - Intended For Everyday Utilitarian Use. It is in Very Good All Original Condition and it Displays Beautifully. No Cracks - No Repairs. Minor Imperfections Noted - Small Chips at the Spout and at The Base Perimeter.
