This large oval bowl rests on four tall fine legs. Two cords adorn the belly and add faux support to the bowl. The bowl is largely made of red lacquered wood, except the bottom which is painted in black. The bowl displays a dark patina that contrasts with the bright red lacquer. This Chinese 19th century red lacquered wood bowl with legs and cords would be an uncommon item in most homes, perhaps used in a dining room or living room to host fruit or decorative spheres.
