Circa Late … Read more This Really is a Great Looking & Fine Quality Authentic Nautical - Ships Hand Held Spyglass - Telescope. Circa Late 19th Century. It Measures 23 1/2 inches when Fully Extended and it is Quite Rare to Find the Smaller Size Spyglasses with 7 "Draws" - Segments. It has No Maker or Other Markings but Based on my Years of Experience I can Sat that it was Most Likely Made in France. It is Made Out of Solid Brass and The Body is Wrapped in Genuine Rosewood. The Front Lens Still Retains its Original Removable Cap - Dust Cover. The Eyepiece Lens Also has a Slide Away Mechanism Lens Cover. It is in Excellent All Original Cosmetic and Functional Condition. The Brass Exterior Parts have Developed a Wonderful Natural Aged Color & Patina and it Displays Beautifully. Also - I have Cleaned the Internal Magnifying Glass Lenses and It has Very Good Optics.

PLEASE NOTE - THAT THIS IS A PRECISION INSTRUMENT AND SHOULD ALWAYS BE TREATED WITH CARE. WHEN EXTENDING THE SPYGLASS FOR VIEWING FROM THE CLOSED - COLLAPSED POSITION ALWAYS BE SURE TO EXTEND EACH DRAW SLOWLY - GENTLY & DELIBERATELY ( NEVER TUG OR YANK IT OPEN ). TO CLOSE - COLLAPSE THE SPYGLASS USE THE SAME PROCEDURE IN REVERSE.

HOW DO I USE AND FOCUS THIS SPYGLASS ? - The Spyglass Can be Focused by Viewing - Looking Threw the Eyepiece When it is Fully Extended and Fixing Your Sight on a Item Off in The Distance and Then Adjusting by Slightly Shortening the the Length at the Last - Viewing Draw. Until Focused.

It Measures Approx. 5 1/4 inches Long When Collapsed / 23 1/2 inches Long When Fully Extended.
The Body ( Brass Lens Cap ) is Approx. 1 3/4 Inches Wide - Tall.
