This Richard Bernstein rare vintage 1982 " Richard Gere " iconic Herb Ritts photo collector's Pop Art poster is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The Pop Art poster is printed in 1982 in The United States, published by Starmakers Poster Corp NYC, photo by Herb Ritts, painting by Richard Bernstein, copyright Gere productions Inc. It features an artwork originally created by Bernstein in 1982 of Hollywood actor Richard Gere from an iconic her Ritts photo. The outstanding bold iconic artwork is in Bernsetin's signature vibrant Pop Art style.
Richard Bernstein ( 1939 - 2002 ) most widely known as the creator of Andy Warhol's Interview Magazine distinctive covers for 17 years. His paintings with their foundation in Pop Art and Classical portraiture offer a synthesis of style that is strikingly powerful.
In 1984 Bernstein released his first book " Megastar " commemorating his fine celebrity portraits. The 1st edition of the coffee table book, printed in three languages was completely sold out making it a valuable collector's items.
In 1990 Bernstein was commissioned by The World Federation of the United Nations Association to create the first postal stamp for the decade, placing him in the company of Warhol, and Picasso who have been similarly honored. The work of Richard Bernstein can be seen in the exhibitions and collections of major museums worldwide.
The rare out of print collector's Pop Art poster measures 22 1/2" W X 28 1/2" H. It is in excellent " like new " vintage condition consistent with age, and very light signs of handling.
