Prang … more Tigress + Cubs Chromolithograph, 1885, in heavy Victorian Frame by Louis Prang (March 12, 1824 – June 15, 1909)
Prang was an American printer, lithographer, and publisher. He is sometimes known as the father of the American Christmas card. He created L. Prang and Company in 1860 and became successful and known for their Civil War maps. After studying in Europe in 1864, he began creating Christmas cards and also published instructional books to improve art education in the United States. In this print, Prang explores relatively unknown and "exotic" animals.
