This David Hockney rare vintage 1988 " Montcalm Interior at Seven O'Clock " iconic custom framed lithograph print collector's Pop Art poster is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection. Published by the 1858 Gallery Salts Mill Bradford, printed in 1988 in Yorkshire England in an unnumbered limited edition. It features an artwork originally created by Hockney in 1988 titled " Montcalm Interior at Seven O'Clock ", copyright 1988 David Hockney.
In 1988 Hockney painted the glorious sitting room of his Los Angeles home at 2907 Montcalm Avenue in the Hollywood Hills. Deconstructed and rebuilt as a series of brightly colored planes and shapes - but still recognizably a living space, poised and awaiting human interaction. Montcalm Interior with it's sensual Matisse like bluster of Hockney's color, cubist exuberance, and Van Gogh esque brushstrokes is one of Hockney's most expressive and Iconic artworks.
David Hockney ( B. 1937 ) is an English painter, draftsman, printmaker, stage designer, and photographer. He is an important contributor to the Pop Art movement of the 1960's, he is considered one of the most influential British artists of The 20th Century. His Pop Art Expressionist artworks have been the subject of more than 400 solo exhibitions. Art works by Hockney are included in the collections of many of the worlds most prestigious museums.
The rare out of print collector's lithograph print framed poster measures 34" W X 28 1/2" h X 1" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a classic Modern navy marine blue matte eggshell finish wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
