- It is in Very Good All Original - Exactly as it Has Survived Over the Years Condition. It Still Retains … moreIt is in Very Good All Original - Exactly as it Has Survived Over the Years Condition. It Still Retains its Original Molded Glass Globe that is in Excellent Condition - No Damage. It is Age Tarnished but I am Sure that it Would Polish Beautifully if So Desired. The Globe has a Few Bubbles and a Faint Crescent Shape Outer Surface Mark but These Would Have Occurred in The Making. It Also has a Very Old - Most Likely Original Braided Cloth Wick That is in Poor Condition and Should be Replaced if You are Planning on Filing it with Lamp Oil and Using it. The Brass Top Cap has a Few Small Dents. The Base - Oil Tank Has No Holes or Potential Leaks. PLEASE NOTE! --- That it Contains No Oil or Oil Residue. The Tank is Completely Empty, Clean & Dry. less

This is a Great Looking Authentic Antique American Brass Ice Skating Oil Lantern. Over the Years They Have Commonly Been Referred to as "Skater Lamps". It has No Maker Mark that I Can Find but The Top of the Lamp is Embossed with a Patent Date of December 24th, 1867. Back in the day Night Time Ice Skating on Local Lakes and Ponds was a popular Winter Entertainment and Social Event. This Lamp has a Chain with a Finger Hole Ring Allowing it to Dangle - Sway When Used. It is in Very Good All Original - Exactly as it Has Survived Over the Years Condition. It Still Retains its Original Molded Glass Globe that is in Excellent Condition - No Damage. It is Age Tarnished but I am Sure that it Would Polish Beautifully if So Desired.
