This Robert Rauschenberg rare vintage 1979 Dumont Art calendar lithograph print Pop Art poster " Persimmon " 1964, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection. The lithograph print is a page from a large format art calendar published by Dumont Art, printed in an unnumbered limited edition in West Germany in 1979, in association with Universe Books New York city. It features a Pop Art artwork originally created by Rauschenberg in 1964 titled " Persimmon ", image copyright Leo Castelli, New York.
Robert Rauschenberg ( 1925 - 2008 ) is recognized as one of the 20th Century's most influential and prolific artists. he is credited with binding the gap between movements of Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art. A pioneer of the " Transfer Drawing " process, he experimented in technologically sophisticated combinations of photographs and drawings. he is highly regarded as a Modern Master of mixed media and collage. The works are layered and transcend the two dimensional format for the viewer. Art works by Rauschenberg are included in the permanent collections of more than 70 of the worlds most prestigious museums.
The rare out of print lithograph calendar print measures 19 1/4" W X 23" H, with an image area of 15 1/2" W X 20 3/4" H. It is printed on high quality paper stock with a satin finish.
