What is repousse? It's a French style of carving flowers into silver or precious metals. Typically for silverware or dressing room sets. For one to be done in everyday stainless steel flatware is unusual. Most of them- including these - were made in the early 1970s at the resurgence of the art nouveau styles. This is a complete set of 12 place setting of 5 pieces each, plus 2 sugar/jelly spoons, 2 master butter knives and TWELVE extra teaspoons!!! We all know what pieces disappear first, and this is our insurance! A total of 76 pieces in excellent condition. Normally for a set this large I try to include a silverware box, but this is casual, no tarnish stainless steel perfect for everyday use. The finish is a matte silver looking more like pewter than a high gloss silver, with the addition of a black background. less
