Description: This is an absolutely fantastic wood carving by Los Angeles California, Phoenix Arizona artist, Frank, "F. Petek". It is a … more This is an absolutely fantastic wood carving by Los Angeles California, Phoenix Arizona artist, Frank, "F. Petek". It is a wonderful modernistic version of a Mexican Farmer or Laborer, with his asymmetrical hat, and Pitch fork! The body is a biomorphic with an open center. He has exaggerated oversized hands! Nice! It is very similar to some Heifetz pieces we have owned in the past. It is made of pine or cedar. It stands 15 1/2" tall. It has wear consistent to bottom edges as being an old piece. We put it in the 1940s, poss. 1950. It is signed to bottom. F. Petek, who was husband of well-known Southwest artist Poko Petek. This piece has been in our collection many years. We obtained it from the Caroline Price estate, Friends of Frank Lloyd Wright, and Former owner's and builders of the FLW Price Tower in Bartlesville Oklahoma. It is in excellent condition, ready for display. less
