If feels soft, and I believe it's called Velveteen... it looks really great for it's age, with just a few small areas showing prior use. I think a good cleaning and these would be good to go, without new upholstery. The seats have a great curved shape and they appear to float. There is still a tag on the bottom showing 1977. less
