Description: This early 20th century Japanese eggshell porcelain Satsuma Ware teapot set with original sugar and creamer was made in the … more This early 20th century Japanese eggshell porcelain Satsuma Ware teapot set with original sugar and creamer was made in the Satsuma province of Japan and this set was made some time in the early part of the 20th Century. Satusuma ware was produced in Kyushu, Japan which is Japans third largest island were Satsuma earthenwares have been made since the 16th Century. This set was hand painted over transferware pattern that was applied over the glaze with fine detail depicting a giesha girl scene with flowers and pagodas in the background. This Satsuma Ware Japanese eggshell porcelain teapot three piece set is in "Excellent Condition" with only small chips, no cracks, no crazing to the glaze, and most of the paint intact for the age of the set.
