This set has had a long well lived life…beautiful detail and style

Silverplate Desktop Double inkwell set. Engraved “ICH DIEN “ with Hallmarks from England. Both inkwells are chipped on base which is not noticeable and there is silver plate loss on the high spots from use.
Measures 8.5” x5” x3” "Ich dien" ("I serve") is a near-homophone for the Welsh phrase "Eich Dyn" meaning "Your Man", which might have helped endear the young Black Prince to the Welsh soldiers in particular. It’s always been associated with The Prince of Wales since.
It’s comes with a nifty group of English Silver plate items including one small box and two small octagonal dishes, all engraved with dogs. The two dishes feature Wire Fox Terriers to center, and the box features an Old English Bull Terrier on lid. Fair condition, Items are originally well made .There is some silver plate loss,which we loved about the set, the hinge on box is working smoothly - see photos.
