The style of the painting incorporates influences of expressionism and fauvism with a modern twist. I am always inspired by the beauty of life and simple things that can often be taken for granted. I love painting fruit that are readily available as the seasons change and taking time to notice their beauty. Pears in particular have many symbolic meanings - including fertility, immortality and prosperity.
