This antique chest from … Read more A Neoclassical French carved and painted wood commode, with original marble top, from the 19th century. This antique chest from France features its original marble top with rounded front corners and a subtle reverse breakfront design, atop a neoclassical case which houses three full-sized drawers flanked within rounded side posts which are fluted carved with chandelles. The three graduated drawers are each fitted with a pair of rectangular bail-pull handles and a shield-shaped escutcheon at their center. The chest is presented upon four conical feet with bulbous accents at their tops. There is a new/custom grey finish with a light accent trim that compliments the original marble in various shades of light and dark grey. This 19th century French Neoclassic chest-of-drawers would work really well in a bedroom as a dresser or perhaps in a foyer or living area with decorative items atop and storage within. See less
