The perfume advertisement print was created by Rene Gruau, a collectible French illustrator who is recognized internationally for his highly stylized fashion illustration and advertising art. The print is signed by Gruau with his signature initial. This print is a prime example of the French propensity for style and flair in advertising art. The creative friendship between Christian Dior and the illustrator Rene Gruau was a collaboration which celebrated a special spirit which continued for many years, even after Dior’s death in 1957. This print is dynamic, chic and indeed a showstopper. Gruau’s breathtaking use of bold color and strong graphic lines enhances the allure of Dior’s fragrance.
