This antique Italian walnut commode features an unusual triangulated bombé body, minimally adorn with straight molding and a gracefully swagged skirt along three sides. This chest has four drawers, each displaying their original round mount with bail pulls, with decorative escutcheons found at the centre of the lower three. The piece is raised nicely upon four delicate cabriole legs. The rich walnut wood has a wonderful old patina, a proud display of it's history. This turn of the 18th-19th century Italian commode with it's unusual straight-lined bombé body will make a stunningly handsome statement piece in any room, perhaps within an entry foyer or living area. less
