This " Warhol's Jews : Ten Portraits Reconsidered " rare first edition collector's exhibition hardcover art book is an incredibly special and unique book to add to your library collection. Published in 2008 by Yale University Press on the occasion of the exhibition at The Jewish Museum New York and The Contemporary Jewish Museum San Francisco, authored by the well known art critic Richard Meyer.
The monograph hardcover art book features the work of the world famous American Pop Art master Andy Warhol ( 1928 - 1987 ). In 1980 Warhol created a group of ten original painting portraits in his iconic Pop Art style of 10 important Jewish world figures. The subjects who Warhol called " Jewish Geniuses " are famous world figures in various fields.
When the artworks were first exhibited in 1980 they were received with great controversy due to a number of reasons. In 2008 the paintings were brought back to the public to be viewed for the first time since the original exhibition. The rare exhibition book offers new insights into a significant series by an iconic Modern master artist.
The 1st edition collector's book measures 9 3/4" W X 10 3/4" H X 1/2" D, with 64 pages. It is in excellent new condition with very light signs of handling. Please see photos for condition reference. It is now being offered here for an excellent price. less
