We have researched this chair and attribute it to Thonet in his earlier days while producing bentwood furniture in Czechoslovakia. It could be older than the 1900’s, but we have no makers mark other than “made in Czechoslovakia”.
The bentwood frame is topped with an armchair featuring a carved back and paw arms. The legs are reeded and Federal in style. The drop in seat is upholstered in what we believe to be the original fabric.
The original finish has been left alone so as not to disturb any identifiable characteristics.
