This Wasily Kandinsky very rare vintage 1960 Mid Century Modern fine art lithograph print custom framed Galerie Maeght Paris exhibition poster " Contact " 1924, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The fine art poster print is published by the famous Galerie Maeght, Paris. Printed in France in 1960 in an unnumbered limited edition on the occasion of the " Epoque Du Bauhaus 1921-1927 " exhibition. It features an artwork image originally created by Kandinsky in 1924 titled " Contact ", copyright Editeur Maeght Imprimeur.
This is a rare opportunity fro true Kandinsky, Bauhaus, and Mid Century Modernism fans and collectors all, as this coveted image fine art lithograph poster is long out of print and very scarce to find.
Wasily Kandinsky ( 1866 - 1944 ) was a Russian born Modern Expressionist painter and art theorist. He is considered to be one of the most important Abstract artists of all time, and the pioneer of The Abstract Art Movement. He was an educator at the famous Bauhaus School in Germany. He is credited with landmark theories relating to his original color compositions and concepts of spiritual life and humanity in his artworks. Art works by Kandinsky are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
Visionary genius Aime Maeght opened his infamous art gallery The Galerie Maeght in 1945 in Paris France. Coinciding with the end of World War II and the return of many exiled artists back top France. The greatest international artists of the time exhibited at the gallery including Francis Bacon, Georges Braque, Alexander Calder, Marc Chagall, Wasily Kandinsky, Ellsworth Kelly, Richard Lindner, Henri Matisse, Paul Rebeyrolle, Walasse Ting, among many others.
In addition to being a gallerist and art dealer, Aime and his son Adrien also founded Maeght Editeur which is recognized as one of the most important and influential publishers of lithographs, books, and fine art posters in the world, such as this exquisite exhibition poster print.
The rare out of print framed Modernist Paris exhibition poster measures 22" W X 28 3/4" H X 1 3/8" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern recessed detail matte eggshell finish black metal frame molding, with and attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
