residing in Pebble Beach, CA, specialize in realist art - portraiture, genre, landscape and still life. The Baranovs represent a unique combination of artists painting together simultaneously, on the same canvas. A very small number of collaborative studio work examples can be found throughout the history of art; however, the Baranovs do this not only in the comfort of the studio, but in plein aire* as well. Working in a duet enables the artists to perform faster in the ever-changing plein aire conditions and also to evaluate their own accomplishments in a more comprehensive and more captious manner.
"Mystic Twilight" is just beyond spectacular. The colors take your breath away and it's unusual ability to "glow" is fascinating. Pictures do not do it justice and I wish you could see it in person. This was purchased about 15 years ago in the Jones and Terwilliger Gallery in Carmel. The Baranovs had painted a number of paintings of the beautiful historic missions in Carmel. I have all of it's documents of authenticity from when I purchased it. They have since more than doubled in price. My price is less than the galleries are asking at this time. It is beautifully framed. The painting itself is 20 x 30 but in it's entirety with frame 28 x 38. If you live within 100 miles of me I will deliver it free. less
