An excellent mid-century modernist landscape composition, painted in oil onto board.
This expressionist piece features broad, gestural sweeping brushstrokes in warm and rich colours. The paint has been applied thickly, creating areas of impasto and giving this composition its painterly effect. The artist has captured the charm of the old farmhouse – its rust-coloured palette and expressionist brushstrokes lend a rustic effect to the painting.
