In was common in France in the 19th century to purchase knives separatly from the remainder of the table service. They have cow horn handles mointed with sterling sliver ferrules and stainless steel blades. There are twelve dining and twelve salad or fruit knives each in a separate box. They are in very good as found condition and are embossed on the blades, "La Draggone," (the dragon) and "inoxy Dable," (stainless). The boxes are original and have both interior and exterior wear consistent with their age and use. Dimensions below are for the dining knives, the fruit knives measure 8" long, .75 wide and .5" thick. They were found near Lyon. See less
