Gorgeous Victorian/Art Nouveau deep well frame with gilt insert for a cherished painting, family portrait, needlepoint, or to convert to a fabulous mirror. Just beautiful, with gleaming wood (walnut? mahogany?) and wonderful detail. The carved faux bois frame has a deeply curved well that is enhanced by grooved lines, and a 1" gilt inset. The pictures don't do this frame justice! Can be hung either way.
In beautiful shape-minor wear at the back of the corners and some missing gilt, as shown. Easily buffed out and regilded, if desired. Does not affect display or use. Please see pictures for details and condition.
Measures 22 1/2" w x 17 1/4" h 2 1/8" d with interior dimensions of 17" w x 11 1/2" h.
