Offered is a tall hand-carved Walnut wood combination salt shaker and pepper mill grinder made in the mid 1950s to mid 1960s, possibly from France or Italy. The lid unscrews to fill the upper chamber/silo with salt, and the lower chamber/tower with peppercorns. It works perfectly, and looks stately and elegant on any chef's table whether minimalist, mid century enthusiast, or traditional. The angled tower is a thoughtful ergonomic detail, designed by someone experienced with serving fresh ground pepper while standing at the side of a gourmet feast.
It measures 2.875" in diameter.at its base, and 17.25" in height. less
