A magnificent rare original gold-leafed offset lithograph "Princess Seated Upon The Terrace of a Palace" after 17th century Indian painting. The princess holds between her fingers a mauve tulip. In the fore-ground an ornamental basin flanked by two palm trees.
Comes from a rare first limited and only edition art folio published by Les Editions du Chene in Paris, France in 1950. Printed on one side. Hand tipped on a board of heavy paper. Numbered "V" at the lower right corner of the insert. Gold-leafed and very detailed. Superb quality, rich colors, excellent condition - very minor edge wear on the board, never framed.
Image 6.45"W x 10.55"H - slightly bigger than the original artwork.
The original 17th century Indian portrait of The Princess is 6.38"W x 10.37"H, Collection J. Pozzi.
