Description: This is a solid and heavy box for jewelry. It weighs 3.5 lbs. It has two compartments. The top one … more This is a solid and heavy box for jewelry. It weighs 3.5 lbs. It has two compartments. The top one is visible in the picture, and there is another one under it with no divisions. It can store beaded necklaces and has space for about ten necklaces in the bottom compartment. It measures 11" x 7" x 3.5". One can place a lock in the latch in the front. It was purchased in the Far East in 1974 in like-new condition and is still in the same excellent condition because it was used to store jewelry rather than for daily opening. It was made in China around 1950 and the traditional Chinese costumes worn by the figures represented on its cover/lid are inlaid in genuine mother-of-pearl. It's useful, decorates any dresser or nightstand, and exudes quality and beauty. less
