Skillets are commonly used to stir fry or sauté. “Sauté” is the method of cooking and Sauté pans have straight sides.

Simply put, a skillet is one of the most versatile cookware pieces in the kitchen. The slanted sides make it easier to stir, flip and toss the ingredients.

Appears to be an awesome brass handle, rustic, not smooth. Has a nice weight to it, in excellent condition. (Reminds me of a petite cast iron skillet handle in feel, weight and appearance, but definitely brass in color. All details are shown in the photographs.

The interior lining of the pan appears to be tin (?), definitely not stainless steel. Tin is a better conductor of heat with copper bottom pans.

I can not decisively determine, its age, just guessing, from my newly acquired knowledge in researching this beautiful pan. There are no maker markings displayed on this petite pan, but it was made with heart and shows it. less
