One side is plain burgundy velvet with a gold silk border and the reverse side is the same but with slightly raised star designs within the gold border. Velvet is such a playful material with how it changes shade with where you stand or how you “pet” it. You can see this in the first two photos. All I did was flip the placemats 180 degrees. So you get two colors for the price of one!
These would be great for during Christmas time, or for Valentine’s Day, or even to use as your regular placemats. There are eight placemats in the set. These appear to be handmade and made well. The stars look like they were put on by hand with those gel fabric paints that were so popular in the early 90s.
All placemats are in very good condition. They have been careful for well for all these years, and likely only used on special occasions. less
