ProCigar was formed in 1992 by a collective of the Dominican Republic’s most storied cigar makers. The organization is committed to promoting the esteemed reputation the Dominican Republic carries in the international cigar scene. Beginning in 2008, a ProCigar Festival was established and is now held annually in the Dominican Republic as a cultural celebration and showcase for the country’s handmade cigar industry. It is a five-day long festival where cigar makers and brand owners open up their tobacco fields and cigar factories to visitors. The festival is also an opportunity for fans of Dominican cigars to meet the people behind their favorite smokes. During each of the evening’s festivities, a special sampler box is given out to every festival attendee. The sampler boxes are collectibles and usually feature some nice artwork and adornments. This whimsical cigar box is a collectible sampler box from a past festival. It was handcrafted to look like a jewelry box and is made from materials typically associated with the construction of cigar boxes (wood, cardboard, paper). It measures 8” x 6½” x 3½” W/D/H; interior 7½” x 6¼” x 2¾” W/D/H; weight 1 lb. 2 oz. In excellent condition; structurally sound, air tight, no scent/odors with minimal wear to the interior. ProCigar label on the underside as is the signature of the artist who made this box. Though the cigars are long gone, this beauty will make a fabulous catchall box, decorative accent on a tabletop or bookshelf or a place to store baubles, trinkets and such!
