Dating back to the late 19th to early 20th century, these finely carved pieces exhibit visible signs of age: the kiwano is missing several spines, the mango has a damaged stem and deep cracks, and the starfruit (pepper) is missing its stem. One of the tamarinds (peas) has chips along the edge of the skin. Slight fine cracks, stains, and tarnishing are present throughout.
