This pair of bookends feature a small boy sitting atop a stack of four books, thinking - in Rodin’s “The Thinker” pose. They were made in the 1960’s.

The Set is in Very Good preloved condition with no major imperfections including cracks, chips or repairs. There is some slight surface wear with the bronze over metal finish showing it's age, but it lends definition and character to the surface and features. They have a nice heft, they will actually hold books up so many light weight ones will not.

There was a period in the 1940-70s where bookends were very popular, built in library shelves in every home and the world of knick knacks was at its height. These are lovely and I can see them being used on traditional book shelves or even as a an accent for children's books in a child's room.

The Bookends measure 7.5” High x 4.125” Wide x 4.25” Deep. The Set weighs 3 pounds 6 ounces or 53.90 ounces or 1528 grams. less
