At the moment there is candelabra wire running through the two arms of each sconce which doesn't need to be removed if these are used to hold candles.

The quality of the brass and its antique patina give these sconces a warm, inviting look, as does their understated design.

The last photo shows the mounting device, a hole to accommodate a bent piece of metal that you or your electrician will fashion. There’s never anything standard about installing French lighting – the price we pay for its individuality and beauty.
