Stamped with the Nissen logo on the bottom, this stunning bowl showcases a beautiful warm patina, reflecting its age while maintaining excellent condition. Designed by Richard Nissen, born in Denmark in 1928, this piece exemplifies his expertise in woodworking and design. Nissen's career trajectory within the wood products factory, from his start in 1943 to becoming operations manager in 1952 and eventually acquiring the factory from his father in 1957, reflects his dedication to craftsmanship and innovation. Collaborating with sculptor Jens H. Quistgaard in the 1950s, Nissen shifted the factory's focus towards producing design items, contributing significantly to the Danish Design movement.
