This is a beautiful "Keyhole Chair" made by William Fetner that carries Fetner's maker's mark on the bottom of the seat. It was made in Hamlet, North Carolina during the early 1950's through part of the '60's. It is made from pine and is almost as beautiful as the day it left his shop.
This iconic keyhole chair by William Fetner can also be considered a sculptural piece as much as seating. William Fetner was a WWII veteran and a pilot who flew many successful missions. He was a designer and was drawn to Early American designs and styles. William Fetner, Inc. also produced sailmaker’s and cobbler’s benches, butler’s tables, dry sinks, dining tables, captain’s chairs, trestle tables with benches and many other products.
This chair is authentic Fetner. It is not a replica as some on the market are. This chair has the original William Fetner impressed maker's mark on the bottom of the seat. It is a great accent to any room and a real conversation starter because of it's unique style.
