This finely carved polychrome wood cherub holds a small guitar/mandolin. Likely produced for use in a church, the sculpture is carved and gessoed with over-paint, gilding and inset glass eyes, only fragments of the glass eyes remain. Rendered as if in mid-flight with wings outstretched, clutching their instrument. Unsigned.
