This highly decorative decalcomania glass lamp has a chinoiserie design with a surreal, dream like quality to it and features a bird near it’s nest, a floating butterfly, and other bits of garden flora and fauna.
The greens and yellows of the art work are set off beautifully by the silver backdrop of the glass lamp body. With a carved wood top and base resembling a lily pad, the design is charming and playful as well as being an expertly executed work of art.
Fitted with two brass light sockets and adjustable rod to change height.
A NOTE ON DECALCOMANIA
Decalclomania is the process of transferring designs from prepared paper on to glass or porcelain. The decoration is on the inside of the vase, making it a reverse glass painting.
