"Since 1897 Knabstrup Keramik of Denmark has been famous for creating outstanding arts and crafts - eye-catching, ceramic everyday objects, and renowned for its beautiful glazes and extensive range of decor & tableware, pickle jars and reliefs."
Offered is a vintage light gray and speckled glazed stoneware pitcher (for milk or water) that has a hand-painted iridescent blue band and brown rim. It measures 3.5" in diameter, 6" in width from the edge of the lip to the end of the handle, and 5.175" in height.
Designed by Christine Konschak in 1967, this is true mid 20th Century Danish Modern serving piece - earthy, unpretentious, simple, well made, and practical.
Christine Konschak was one of Denmark's distinguished ceramists of the 20th century and her artwork is exhibited among the collections of several museums in her native country. less
