This " Henri Matisse : Paintings and Sculptures in Soviet Museums " rare vintage 1978 first edition lithograph print large hardcover French Modern Art book is a very special and unique book to add to your library collection.
The hardcover art book with royal blue linen covered boards, embossed cover and spine titles, and dust jacket is published by Aurora Art Publishers, Leningrad, printed and bound in Austria in 1978. Authored with compelling text by A. Izerghina, translated from the Russian by R.J. Rosengrant anfd V. Paperno, layout and design by A. Durandin.
Henri Matisse ( 1869 - 1954 ) The French born artist is known for both his sense of color and fluid aesthetic. Matisse is commonly regarded, along with Picasso as one of the most important artists who helped to define and influence radical Contemporary Art of The Twentieth Century. His mastery of the expressive language of color and drawing won him recognition as a leading figure in world Modern Art. Artworks by Matisse are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.

The rare out of print 1st edition large format hardcover art book measures 10 3/4" W X 13 1/2" H X 1" D, with 200 pages. It features 277 illustrations, including 55 plates in full-color, a biographical outline, list of illustrations, ad notes on the plates.
