Made in 1989, Portugal, these are identical copies of 18th and 19th century apothecary jars painted in the style of the azulejo (blue and white) tiles that adorn buildings in Lisbon and other Portugues cities. This style was adopted from Delft. The larger jar (11" tall), has a curvy ginger jar silhouette and reads "DIASCORD". It is decorated with swags, garlands, a flower basket, cherub and a pair of peacocks. The second vase (7") is footed with linear verticality and features similar swags, garlands, a cherub and two birds, possibly swallows or sparrows. Both are in like-new condition with no issues. less
