Description: Large Chinese porcelain bitong, a large, finely potted urn with a smooth, partially rolled, unglazed sepia rim, a short upper … more Large Chinese porcelain bitong, a large, finely potted urn with a smooth, partially rolled, unglazed sepia rim, a short upper neck band slightly proud of the gently curving body of the pot below, a white glazed exterior and interior, and a narrow, smooth, cream white, unglazed, base ring with a large, white glazed, inset center. Two, thin, red, trim circles accent the top of the brushpot, just below the rim. Eight, large, ornate, polychrome, Ru Yi lappets, consisting of alternating, red and blue, auspicious flowers amid foliate, flowering, curly vines decorate the top of the brushpot. Four, finely drawn, leafy, branching peonies are quartered on the lower body of the brushpot, accented with various auspicious flowers. A band of fine, red chevrons accents the foot. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu stand is included. Circa Republic of China era or earlier.
