The image is surrounded by a brilliant red velvet mat encased in an embellished frame. It's in overall condition considering its age. There is no hook or easel attached to the back.

The Repousse' method is when parts of the design are raised in relief from the back or the inside of the article by means of hammers and punches. This ancient technique, which has been used extensively throughout the history of metalworking, achieved widespread popularity in Europe during the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. Even though the piece has this period look it is not dated when it was made.
