Different periods have different shades of paint. These softer shades are indicative of the 18th century, and are so beautiful. The detail of the paint is also early. Also there is a spot of kiln grit on the outside which tells me it is very old. In the 18th century they used wood fires to fire their porcelain and you would get pieces of grit in the porcelain. There is no damage to this bowl, chips, cracks, or wear. There is even a bat painted on the inside which is good luck. It measures 9 7/8”W x 4 1/2”H. See less
