Description: The colors of this French cameo glass vase are what first attracted me to it, the intense turquoise blue showcased … more The colors of this French cameo glass vase are what first attracted me to it, the intense turquoise blue showcased beautifully against the white background. Most American collectors are familiar with names like Daum and Gallé, but there were many other glass manufacturers in France who weren't quite as well known, but who produced exquisite pieces like this vase. Acid was used to etch the design into the glass, giving it great textural details like the lines on the grape leaves and the bunch of grapes. This vase is a solid piece, weighing five pounds. It is signed, but I haven't been able to decipher the last few letters in the name. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. I should point out that it has been used to display fresh flowers over the years, so the base on the inside is slightly soiled. I soaked the vase and washed it thoroughly, but it could benefit from a good scrubbing with a long bottle brush.

This is an impressive vase, measuring 14 1/4" (36.2 cm) in height. It measures 4 3/4" (12 cm) at the widest point. The diameter of the top is 4 5/8" (11.7 cm). The diameter at the bottom is 3 7/8" (9.8 cm). less
