This antique copper cauldron is 19" in diameter and about 9" high, it is solid copper
except for the handles. The handles look and feel cast iron to me- but they are smooth
and rounded.

Most of the copper is thick and strong, but the copper at the very bottom became thinned
out over time. This probably was hung over the fireplace hearth and perhaps the combination
of fire and the stirring action of the contents within caused the wear through areas.

At some point, someone tried to weld the few open spots shut. They used a tinny looking metal- not copper or brass. In addition to the few spots that were welded, there is a hairline split that runs about 2 inches on the bottom as well where you can barely see light coming through it.

I tried to take as many close ups as possible as I always believe in full transparency.
The production team at Chairish gave me the green light to list it, so that gave me
confidence in its desirability. Pricing is reflective of condition. less
