This is an authentic French Art Deco lamp dating to the 1920's. The base was handcrafted from wrought iron and features roses and leaves. The orange glass shade was produced by the famous manufacturer, Daum in Nancy, France. There is a chip on the opening of the shade, but it's not visible once the shade has been placed in the holder. I've included a picture of the signature for Daum, which includes La Croix de Lorrain (the Cross of Lorrain) between the two names. The base was painted black at some point, and this paint has chipped off in places. I find these subtle imperfections quite desirable as they give character to the piece and show us that it's a genuine item from that time period. I had the original bayonet socket replaced with a smaller one that requires a chandelier bulb. The wiring has also been replaced to meet U.S. requirements and is ready to be used in your home.
The total height of this lamp is 18 1/2" (47 cm). The base measures 6 3/8" by 6 3/8" (16.2 by 16.2 cm). The glass shade measures 5 1/2" (14 cm) high and the diameter across the top is 5 3/4" (14.6 cm). The opening of the shade that goes over the socket is just 1" (2.5 cm), which is why I wasn't able to replace the original bayonet socket with a larger American one. The small chandelier bulb actually produces quite a bit of light and the orange glow in a darkened room is magical! This is an impressive lamp, one that would be a great addition to an Art Deco enthusiast's collection.

There is a chip on the opening of the glass shade, but it's not visible once the shade has been placed in the holder. The wrought iron base was painted black at some point, and this paint has chipped off in places, but these imperfections are minor and don't detract from the beauty of this fine example of Art Deco lighting.
