Smith in Morrow Ohio using traditional cabinet making techniques. The two part cabinet rests on straight feet with an unusually deeply cut scalloped design. The doors have pegged mortise and tenon joinery and the true divided light door is glazed with reproduction wavy glass. The interior of the upper compartment is painted with a crackle glaze peacock blue paint and has plate grooves along the back edges of the four shelves. The second shelf from the bottom has a series of notches in the front for hanging flatware. The lower compartment contains two shelves. The backboards of the cabinet are planked in solid wood beaded shiplap. The top section is branded with the company mark on the reverse of the backboards while the lower section is signed by hand on the top with the name of the cabinet maker and the date it was completed. Photographs do not do the justice to the beauty of the timber used in this piece! When pushed tightly into a corner the outside edge of the bottom foot of the cabinet will be 29 1/4" from the corner of the wall. The top outside edge of the crown molding will be about 30 3/4" from the corner. less
