This is a Robert Weiss stoneware set of 4 soup/cracker bowls + gravy boat separator. The bowls base read: “Pat. Pend. SM@ ‘77 Robert Weiss Ceramics USA #1012”.
This is a set of 4 bowls with a place for crackers.They are a beautiful whitish in color with large brown speckles. The gravy separator has the same colors and there is a fancy design on the lug handle.
The gravy boat separator is not signed, but was bought in California with the soup bowls in late 1970’s from the artist.

Robert Weiss is a very accomplished artist, starting in the 1960’s. He moved to Hearldsburg, Northern California in 1972 to open a facility that eventually grew to be the largest handmade stoneware manufacturer in the USA.
He employed almost 100 potters and artisans that produced a very extensive line of hand made pottery that sold at high end retailers nationwide.
Since 2003, the proceeds of all his sales are given to the “Weiss Family Fine Arts Scholarship Fund” in Sonoma County. This is where he currently lives and still works in a small home studio producing hand thrown porcelain with crystalline glazes. less
