The inkwell rotates to accommodate your preferred direction for opening the lid. The pierced center handle, adorned with intricate scrolls, doubles as a pen holder. The bottom carries an engraved "MADE IN AUSTRIA" mark.

This early 20th-century piece remains in good condition with signs of wear from age: one inkwell exhibits a slight crack on the outer wall, which affects the lid's ability to close tightly and causes it to open more widely compared to the other inkwell, as shown in the photos. The center handle is lightly crooked due to improper storage over its long life. Some corrosion, patina stains, overall tarnishing to the gilding and minor manufacturing imperfections (holes/pits) are visible.
